"Be sure to wash your hair." THANK. YOU. I cannot understand the trend these past few years of not bathing/showering and washing your hair regularly. Now, that said, I am a long-haired curly girl who almost always resorts to a high/top knot 😂 Ironically, it makes my (extremely large and un-feminine looking) nose look smaller than lower styles, and, for what it's worth, I do knot it loosely and fluff 🤣 This is a great post, thank you!

Great stuff. Are you thinking about doing a related post on hair color and its abuses? Also the necessity of lipstick & eyebrow definition once you've gone silver.

Read this. Loved this. Had just washed my hair, physically ran 3 blocks with a hat on (-3 temp MN) to catch 8 am mass and 9 am adoration hour and looked meh per the bathroom mirror image. Got home. Fired up my retired curling iron and viola! Husband greeted me after work like I was his great wife 2.0. Message recieved: the extra 5 minutes pays big dividends. Thank you for the kick in the bootie. LOL.

Oh wow… you saying that even if the front looks okay but the sides and back do not really made me 😳 Definitely need to wash my hair more often. I always go off how it looks in front.

Auntie Leila, how did you know?! First the dirty high chair tray and now this? Do you have a camera in my kitchen? I have been neglecting my own haircuts in the name of “busy motherhood” and the result is I feel grumpy and frumpy even if I have a little makeup and a dress on. Time to get my limp, lifeless hair in shape! Thanks for the gentle prod as always! Love you!

This was so helpful and the illustrations are so lovely. Even the “don’t” photos showed pretty ladies not looking their best.

I have long hair, take very good care of it, but having to wash, curl and style it takes a lot of time. I can get really lazy especially if I’m not going anywhere.

The comments about the high bun were epic! I’ve become very lazy and doing the ‘do in this style. Hair does not grow up 😅. How obvious and what good advice to look at the sides not just the front. I’m not going to have the baseball on my head look. Or the tight ponytail. I do a side braid or even a fluffy side pony or a bun right behind my left ear and put a pretty scrunchy to give it some pizazz.

This was so practical and inspiring. Having images was really helpful to me. I’ll admit some days I don’t want my hair straight down and resort to a topknot to get it out of the way, but I’ve been attempting lower buns and pony tails with a ribbon or bow and I feel much more put-together.

Could you provide more "femininity" posts. I'm loving this series. It's so helpful and encouraging. It's exactly what I've been looking for someone to talk about (in this housewife way) for the last few years. Thank you so much!
