I’m a housewife too! Lots to finish up here, and I bet at your house too.
One day, observing on social media yet another frankly paralyzing rehash of the same “realizations” about feminism, pro and con, I had the thought to help extricate the spirited woman, not by arguments, but by going straight to the skills — practical, intellectual, and moral — that she needs if she is to escape the wrangle and make her way to a meaningful life that serves those she loves.
In part, I was inspired in this particular project by the film The School of Housewives, about the Icelandic institution of the same name. There, we see confident and even authoritative mature women teach the new generation how to keep the home.
I’ve written for about 17 years now about all this on my blog Like Mother, Like Daughter, and subsequently in my books (linked below).
If you want the in-depth version, there you go!
Here, my posts don’t delve into every possibility — so don’t expect them to. This isn’t that sort of writing: the usual essays in which every sentence is qualified; which is why I say (and put on every post), “use your discernment and sense of humor.”
Otherwise it would take too long, and frankly, time is short. There will be more as we go on. Eventually we’ll get to whatever it is… one paragraph at a time.
After the holidays, we’ll have more chats. As in school, you buckling down to the material is half the battle, requiring thinking and independent study! The more you ponder, without fretting, the better you will come to see how important housewifery is.
Happy Christmas by Viggo Johansen

As with everything here at the SFH, the best thing is for you to take my ideas, coming from my experience of 45 years of marriage and raising seven children, and apply them to your situation with discernment, prudence, and confidence — and a sense of humor!
Merry Christmas dearest Leila, you are the gift that keeps on giving!
