Are you a run amok in panic mode because it’s Monday and there’s so much to do sort of person?
Or are you a recover from the weekend and ignore the to-dos until the stupor passes halfway through the week sort of person?
(Not to mention the daylight savings monkey wrench…)
I think there’s a happy medium — after more than four decades of housewifery I’m honing in on it, maybe.
Make that to-do list, which is a sitting-down activity after all. Be sure you have taken your magnesium, iron, and/or vitamin C, or whatever applies.
Distinguish between the things that need to be done today to get the week off to a good start and those that can be done on another day. Put the former on today’s list and try to keep it to three doable items.
Make sure you know what’s for supper (should be something quite easy — housewives of the past featured soup or some other basically one-dish meal, acknowledging that today is not a great day to spend cooking).
Thank God for a new week!

My book on how to live with the Liturgical Year: The Little Oratory
As with everything here at the SFH, the best thing is for you to take my ideas, coming from my experience of 45 years of marriage and raising seven children, and apply them to your situation with discernment, prudence, and confidence — and a sense of humor!
That picture of the mother hanging up the babies is too funny and cute. Thank you for the great post!
Literally overwhelmed this morning until remembered: laundry and meal plan.
