Damp towels
Don't let them sit around
The housewife needs a system for damp dishtowels and towels of every kind, and also wet dishcloths and washcloths. In the bathroom, hooks and racks…
In the kitchen, if your laundry room isn’t nearby, a hamper or basket for your dirty towels.
But before any towel goes into any hamper, think: if it’s going to be a while before it actually gets laundered, it needs to dry out.
You need the “in-process” places for the towels you are using (like your oven or dishwasher handle or a hook by the sink) and another rack somewhere for wet things headed for the wash.
A dry, dirty towel can wait its turn. A damp towel will certainly get moldy and mildewy sitting in a heap somewhere! Mildew is that “whiff” of a bad smell…
A rack to dry the dirty things before they are tossed into the hamper prevents this problem (and prevents anyone from inadvertently using it).

The damp towel dilemma has plagued my entire time as a homemaker.
Auntie Leila, do you have a visual for what this rack looks like, where is it kept, etc? Right now I have a specific bucket for this purpose, but it's in my laundry room...and it gets "whiffy" fast (of course!😅).
